The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7

Rainy Days and Mondays

This weekend we have enjoyed sunshine and temperatures in the 70's here. Not bad for the second weekend in January! I'm feeling a lot better but still have a little ways to go before I'm back to 100%. I can't believe how exhausted I feel after doing the smallest task. I did take advantage of the warm weather and take some pictures of the 4 legged members of my house earlier today.
It is rather hard to get a good picture of a black dog's face. I did a little research and got some good tips that I will try on another day. For now, here's what I got:
We successfullly gave Balto a bath last night. He was a good boy. Tonight it will be Blossom's turn. She won't be so easy...These two are so curious about each other.
Help! My ear is missing:
Happy Sunday everyone!

Balto is so black that his face disappears when you try to take a picture of him at night. I'll have to take most of my photos of Balto in the daytime. Here's a picture of the new buddies:
Balto is settling in very well! It is so much fun to watch his confidence grow each day. We are so fortunate (and so is Balto!) that he had such a wonderful foster family that showed him love and taught him about living in a home with a loving family. He and Greta are both sitting beside me as I type this post.

Balto is starting to settle into his new home. He and Blossom are having so much fun together. Balto had a background of neglect/abuse so the first couple of days haven't been without challenges. For starters, he was terrified of hardwood floors. Scott had to carry him into the house and put him on the carpet. Then, getting him to go outside was a challenge! Scott went to Lowe's and bought several runners. Wow. What a difference!
Balto also had a problem with getting "stuck" in the door going outside/inside. No matter which way he was going....he would just stop and stand paralyzed with fear. Today, he has seemed to overcome that phobia. Balto is going in and out on his own. I just hope that he remembers how to do it in the morning.
Even though he seemed to be doing very well on Saturday and Sunday, we have really noticed a huge difference in how relaxed he is today. He's gonna be a great addition to the family!

Today, the Humane Society brought a dog by for an in-home visit. Turns out, he was a perfect match! Meet Balto.
Balto is just about the sweetest dog you could ever meet. He is around the same age as Blossom (1 1/2 years) and is just as active! It was love at first sight between the two siblings.
