June Something

Sunday, June 7, 2020

We made it through the first week of June.  How are you doing?  I'm not 100% sure how I would answer that question.  I feel like I'm an alien in a world that I may or may not have visited before.  The bubble that I live in seems somewhat the same but, everything else seems changed.

I saw this beautiful girl today for the first time in weeks.  She was as happy as always.  Today she said, "No open the door", "Dishwasher", "Ice Cream" and "Cheese".  Same ol' Laura.

Nana and Papa enjoyed seeing her smiling face as well.

I tried my best to get Daniel out of the house to ride his bicycle.  After 2 laps around the driveway, he decided he needed to wash his bike.  Yes, it is a girls' bike that he found at a yard sale.  I keep trying to buy him a new bicycle (for boys) but, he said that there is nothing wrong with the one he has.   Daniel does not believe in getting rid of ANYTHING.

After all of these years, Blossom still sticks to Scott like velcro.

Blossom is drinking water out of a tree.

Always.

This is a picture of Balto at the very moment I am typing this.  Someone just set off a firework and he is concerned.

My boss put these on all of the water fountains in our office park.  (Due to COVID)

These signs are at the intersection outside of my office.

A good friend of mine, Sandra, texted this picture and asked if it was me.  It is.  I'm the blonde girl wearing the hat.

Sandra and I met when we were in the nursery together at church.  We still go to the same church together.   I can tell by my haircut that I was 4 years old in the picture.  I'm guessing that it was probably Easter since I'm wearing a hat.  I wore that outfit as a flower girl in a wedding.  It is so weird seeing a picture of yourself when you have no memory of it whatsoever.  I wonder if that memory is still in my brain somewhere.

After watching a classic episode of The Young & the Restless, I posted a comment on their Instagram page.  The storyline was where Sheila Carter's sister Sarah, made herself look identical to Lauren Fenmore.  For weeks, Sarah had locked up the real Lauren and had everyone convinced that she was  her while she destroyed her life.  In this episode, the 2 "Lauren's" met in a fun house full of mirrors.  It was evil Lauren vs. good Lauren and you didn't know if evil Lauren was going to shoot good Lauren or her reflection in a mirror. You get the gist.

I posted "This was awesome!  I want to see the next episode".  Later, while waiting in the doctor's office with Dad, I noticed that Tracey Bregman, who has played Lauren since 1983, had "liked" my comment.  How fun! I'm glad she saw that people loved the classic episode.

If you have watched Y&R in the past 36 years, you will recognize Lauren.

Here's hoping that Earth has a better week.

  1. Well, it's June already and I'm over the moon. I have an appointment to get my hair cut in a little over an hour. Yay! What is that thing in the photo of Balto--a monkey face pillow? That would scare me more than fireworks! The out-of-order and Jesus Saves with Geico signs are a hoot--especially the Geico. That photo of 4-yr-old you is a cutie. You and Sandra both look like you're about to attend a wedding. Congrats on the "Like" from Tracey Bregman. How often does something like that happen!
