I can't believe I've posted 27 days in a row. I think I will try to continue to post every day once the challenge is over. One reason is because it is therapeutic for me. Another reason is because I need the routine. The most important reason, however, is because it is a great diary for me. I look back at my old posts and I realize that I had totally forgotten most of everything that I ever did in those times. So, this is my diary and I need it to remember my life if, by God's grace, I become older.
I told you our new fountain has turned out to be a glorified doggy water bowl. I was sitting outside tonight enjoying the (ridiculously hot) summer night and this happened.
Those two big goofuses!
Tonight I walked over to visit my parents' house and they were getting ready to go out to eat with Kevin and the grandkids. We looked everywhere for Dad's glasses until Kevin realized that Dad was wearing them on his shirt. I wish I had a picture of Dad's expression when Kevin pointed to them.
Last night I got a call later in the evening that my cousin Mark had a heart attack and was in a hospital in Houston. His "widow maker" was 100% blocked but, thankfully, they were able to put a stent in and he is going to be just fine. Whew.
I also found out that my sweet cousin Barbara had burned her feet badly. Barbara has neuropathy in her feet and she was outside standing in the street talking to her neighbor for over an hour. She had no idea that she had 3rd degree burns on her feet and almost "lost" them. She may be having some skin grafts in the near future. I'll spare you the picture because whatever you are imagining in your mind does not come close to it. She is going to be fine as well.
If it's shaped like a bowl and holds water, it's a water bowl. If I were a dog I'd make a beeline for that fountain too!
ReplyDeleteHope your cousins come away from their ordeals with nothing worse than a scary memory.
My sister burned her feet one time. It was terrible😢
ReplyDeleteI had never really thought about it getting so bad. It really is a helpful thing to feel pain.
