Pretty In Pink

Thursday, January 31, 2019

I kind of liked that movie..."Pretty In Pink".  Anyway...

I braved the cold weather this morning (24 degrees) and made it to my diagnostic appointment early.  When I arrived, my sweet friend Sarah was sitting in the waiting room for me.  Oh how reassuring it was to look through the door and see her smiling face.  We spent 20 minutes laughing and catching up while I waited my turn.

The pink gowns were so soft and comfortable.

My technician explained that there was a change on my mammogram this year and exactly what she would be doing.  She took a 3D image of a very specific spot on my left breast and walked me back to my dressing room where I waited for the radiologist to read the image.  Less than 5 minutes later, she came in and explained to me that the radiologist had seen something that she wanted to look into further.  She described it as "maybe a cyst".   I was taken to the room with an ultrasound machine and Dr. Chaconas came in and began the test.  Almost immediately she said, "OH!  That's nothing!"  I was given a good report and was free to go.

Sarah received a reminder on Facebook that today was the 1 year anniversary of her last radiation appointment for her breast cancer.  The office where she received her treatments was on the floor below so we stopped by to take a picture.

When I walked over to visit Mom and Dad, Daniel couldn't wait to show me what he had found in the  storage room; a very old IBM monitor.

Scott actually had to go into the office this week.  I took a picture of him filling his water bottle to document that he was up and ready before 7:00 a.m.  Scott works from home and normally doesn't wake up until 1:00 p.m.

Here is a picture of Scott and his true love doing light therapy for his neck.

They have a special kind of love.

  1. Hooray for "OH, that's nothing"! That's the best kind of news, even if it did get you all worked up for nothing. How sweet of Sarah to meet you there to lend support. Your friends are the best.
