From the incredibly vain file, I took this selfie on Friday because I thought I was having a really good hair day and I wanted to document it due to its rarity. Do not adjust your screen; turns out it was just a regular hair day.
I stopped by my parents' house on the way home from work and Mom was out buying groceries. PawPaw promised Daniel $3 if he would carry Nana's groceries in the house when she got home. Daniel was very excited to have a job.
Here he is proudly displaying his new found wealth.
Saturday, I took Mom and Daniel to see Mom's sister, Ruby. Daniel had never met his Great Aunt Ruby before. Laura was in horse therapy class so she did not go with us. Driving by the sheep grazing in the pasture near my house, Daniel informed us that "Sheep look like walking pillows". We stopped at Stack's Restaurant for lunch. I ate a BLT with fries while Mom and Daniel opted for breakfast.
Daniel ate every bit of his pancakes, eggs, and bacon (along with some of my fries).
Daniel loved Aunt Ruby. He showed her his iPad and his car.
Driving to see Aunt Ruby, Daniel asked me if she had a dog. I explained to him that she lives in an Assisted Living Center and she did not have a dog. Once we were sitting in her room, he saw a stuffed dog in the corner and informed me that I was wrong...she DOES have a dog. He was very concerned that the dog did not have a name. Aunt Ruby let him name her dog. He named it "Woofie" because "Dogs say woof".
I'm not exaggerating by much when I say that he didn't stop talking the entire 4 hours we were together. If you've ever seen the Friends episode when Phoebe dated Parker (played by Alec Baldwin), Scott and I like to say that Daniel is Parker. Parker is super excited and positive about everything in the world. "He called the Long Island Expressway a concrete miracle!" - Monica
Arriving back to the house, Daniel said in a very LOUD voice, "This was the greatest day ever!" The world needs more Daniel's.
Aww, it's sweet that Daniel took so enthusiastically to Aunt Ruby. I would have known she was your mother's sister just by looking at the two of them together. That sure looks like a yummy breakfast Daniel is eating. I would have eaten every bit of it, too.
