For reasons I don't know, my company has decided to give us President's Day off now. This is very exciting to me. I LOVE having a holiday where nothing is expected of me. I'm happy to honor George Washington and those who were brave enough (crazy enough?) to follow in his footsteps. Happy Birthday Presidents. I'll eat a piece of cake for you all.
Yesterday, I took my nephew to his very first hockey game. In true Daniel fashion, he said it was the "Best Day Ever!" Daniel says that every single day; he has been doing that for years. I actually heard him say to himself yesterday that even though he didn't get cotton candy, it was still the best day ever. We should all be more like Daniel.
They gave away free Husqvarna ..... somethings at the game. I'm not exactly sure what it is. It gave examples on the bag. You could wear it on your head or your wrist or your neck. I'm really not sure what it was. When I turned around at a stoplight, this is what I saw....
And since Aunt Julie really messed up and missed buying Daniel cotton candy before they closed the concession stand....we stopped at McDonald's on the way home for a milkshake.
Today I took my parents to pick out some new furniture. Their couch has been around for quite a while and has seen much better days. They picked out a couch...
A chair...
And then we went to Showmars for lunch.
This day was such a blessing. It was 6 months ago today that my dad coded and had to be brought back to life. It has been a long, hard road. It continues to be hard and life is much different for mom and dad now but, every single day is a gift. Take no day for granted!
I like Daniel's attitude--he'll go far! The new couch and chair look extra comfy. Great for curling up and watching the Olympics on TV. I don't know what's in your salad bowl, but it looks yummy and is making me hungry.
