Friday, April 27th was Daniel's birthday. He told me that he wanted a party with all of his friends. Instead, he got a party with family again. :-) We ate supper at Red Robin.
Then back to Daniel's house for cake and presents.
Notice how Laura is laser focused on the cake.
Daniel had a great birthday. He kept saying, "I wish this day would last forever".
The next morning, Saturday, I heard the lawn mower next door. I wondered if it was my Dad...it was.
I was so excited to see my Dad back on this lawn mower after spending 3 of the last 4 weeks in the hospital & rehab. On Monday, he turned 83!
And on Wednesday, I walked over to see Papa and his twin working on the grass.
Dad had offered Daniel $2 to cut the grass but, Daniel didn't weigh enough to keep the engine from shutting off. So.... they cut it together. Daniel told us he would have cut it for free but he really enjoyed having a job.
Stay tuned for my next post... Hospitals and Horses as I detail my nervous breakdown of finding my Dad in distress yet again and having to call 911. He spent all weekend in the Cardiac ICU. And...Laura had her annual Spring Fest to celebrate another year of therapeutic horse riding.
Happy belated birthday to the two birthday boys. I hope Daniel eventually gets a birthday party with all his friends. He can always have a second party with family. I hope your Dad is well over his latest cardiac scare. It's really hard to witness a parent having repeated health issues. Stay strong.
ReplyDeleteYour dad and Daniel do look like twins with their matching shirts... How cute :)
