What's In My Purse?

Sunday, May 20, 2018

I'm so thankful to say that it has been a normal week.   In honor of my normal week, I am excited to write a completely pointless blog post for you.

I bought my purse on Etsy.  The above photo is the actual photo from my purchase.  My account says  that I bought it back in November, 2015.  The artisan that made the purse was a girl from a small town in Canada.  She has a very small Etsy page and I was one of her first customers.

This purse has been one of the best purchases of my life.  I carry this purse every day (3 years running!) and it still looks great!  I still can't see a single place where it is falling apart.  And...I even carried my laptop in it every day for about 6 months.

Drumroll please:

Wet Wipes - I hate germs.

Eye Drops - I keep getting things in my eyes lately so I carry eye drops in my purse.  Not only do I have one bottle of eye drops...I have two.  One bottle is just regular saline "tears".  The other bottle gets the red out in case I have been crying.  I don't like to use those because they make my eyes look unnaturally white and my pupils look dilated like an addict.  OK....maybe not but, I'm paranoid.

Makeup  - Powder compact for my oily face and lip gloss.  I have 3 tubes of the same color of lip gloss in my purse.  Not on purpose.

Wallet - I went all the way to Target last night and remembered that my wallet was sitting on my desk where I used it to make an online purchase.

Chocolate - isn't this self explanatory?

Calendar - I'm old school.

Pen - See "Wet Wipes".  I hate germs so I use my own pen.

Sweater - In the south we run the AC non-stop from now until November.  Many times, it can feel like an icebox when you go into a restaurant.

Gum - yet again; self explanatory.

One emergency Xanax - You just never know when you'll need a good tranquilizer.

iPad - This is not normally in my purse however, I carried it to church today.

Hmm....all I need is a bottle of "White Shoulders" and I think this could have been my Grandmother's purse (minus the iPad - she died in 1996).

What's in your purse????

  1. First of all, I love that photo of your purse when it was new. Simple elegance. Always in style. Secondly, I'm on board with much of the stuff you carry, even if I don't carry it myself. Heaven help me if I carried chocolate! On the other hand, it wouldn't be there for long and my waistline would be considerably bigger than it is.

The iPad in Church is the one I wonder about. Something to fiddle with during a long sermon? I'm guessing some of the Royals could have used iPads during the American Episcopal bishop's lengthy sermon at Harry and Megan's wedding. (I thought he was quite entertaining, although given his style of preaching I suspect he missed not getting the occasional "Amen!" during his talk.)

    1. A lot of people use the Bible app on their iPads now. It makes it easy to find the scripture and to highlight and take notes during the sermon. HOWEVER, I was using it with Laura to play some children's music in the background. She likes music and it seems to calm her.

I missed the sermon at the wedding; I tuned in at the very end. I read that it was very lively! And long.

Thanks for your compliment on the purse! I love the classic styles. A lot of people might think I'm boring but, I love it.
