Saturday, Mom, Dad, Daniel and I, drove to Chesterfield, South Carolina to visit my Uncle John and Aunt Sara. (Kevin and Laura were at Mitey Riders Equine Therapy) Some of my very favorite childhood memories are at their home. Chesterfield is a small, historic town full of beautiful old southern style homes with wraparound porches. Everyone knows everyone in Chesterfield.
Aunt Sara (2nd from left) is one of Dad's four sisters. Dad is child #7 and Aunt Sara is #8. Dad and Uncle John have always been very close. After they both retired, I'm pretty sure they got together to play golf at least once a week until recent years when health issues became a factor for both of them.
Rana is still in Syria so I took some photos of Laura at church today to text to her.
Laura was her usual happy self except for one point when her eyes welled up with tears and she put her face in her shirt and cried. I would give anything if she could have told me what was bothering her. It is heartbreaking to see that sweet face sad.
This afternoon, Matthew's Helping Hands had a "party" for children with Autism. Of course I took some photos there as well.
Boy does Daniel need a haircut. And for someday when Daniel looks at my blog...
Daniel, you begged me to let you take a picture of this squirrel with my phone.
We came home and hung out with Papaw. We woke him up from a nap. Laura was with Nana.
And because I love a good Far Side cartoon....
Here's hoping you have a great week. I'm pretty sure I have some dental work in my future this week. I think I cracked another tooth.
Fun photos! I especially like the one of Daniel inside the tree. Treehouse?
ReplyDeleteCuriosity killed the cats. Love it!
