Most of my weekend consisted of cleaning (and procrastinating cleaning) my house for Thanksgiving. I'm like a kid when it comes to cleaning my house...I fight it. I get distracted.
Daniel had a project going as usual.
I don't know what it is but it had a little "fan type thing" that turned around when he used a remote control.
Daniel is always building something.
Here's a picture of Laura at church on Sunday. She worked hard on her Bible verse. I teach her using the Soma Halo method. Laura points to letters on a letter board as I call them out to her. This has taught many non-verbal children and adults how to spell words and eventually type them. Laura, like many others who are non-verbal, is very smart. She won't do the work unless you bribe her. I have to give her m&m's or Cheez Its to get her to point to the letters. She knows.
Update on my parents: Mom is doing really well. The ultrasound therapy on her leg has really made a huge difference. The bruise/knot on her shin is so much smaller and she is getting around a lot better. Dad is having some really great days lately. He decided to come off of some strong pain medicine he was on and he feels like a new person. Here's to a very Happy Thanksgiving!
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Thursday is when my family is coming over to my house to stuff themselves and Friday, I'm going to Mac Tabby Cat Cafe with my neighbor, Malissa, and her daughter, Samantha. Malissa asked me if I am coming home with a boy or a girl cat. I told her I am coming home with a T-shirt. I hope. It will be so hard to go to the Cat Cafe without adopting a new cat!!!!
Daniel's projects scare me a little. It's great that he's turning into an inventor, but how well grounded is he (pun!) in electricity? I never heard of the Soma Halo method but it's great that it's working with Laura. Glad to hear your Mom and Dad are both doing better.
ReplyDeleteNot much in the works here for Thanksgiving. I'm glad to hear you're going to the Mac Tabby Cat Café. Please, please come home with a cat! I miss seeing and reading about Greta.
