What If You Had Three Million Dollars

Monday, July 30, 2018

Daniel talks constantly.  I mean NONSTOP.   Tonight he couldn't stop asking me silly questions like, "What if 3 million dollars fell out of the sky and landed on your doorstep and then you got a letter saying "Congratulations.  You just won a million dollars?"  Mom and I did our best to answer his questions.  Daniel's brain is even more hyperactive than mine is.

When I walked over to visit Mom and Dad tonight, I found this...

Yesterday, Deanna invited Christy and I out for brunch to celebrate her upcoming wedding.

It's Who You Know

Wednesday, July 25, 2018

I have had my day in court.  Sort of.  Let me start from the beginning.

Christy took a vacation day off of work to go with me to court so I wouldn't be alone.

Funday Monday

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

I went out on Monday night. (Surprising, I know!) My friend, Miranda, invited me to see Heather Land at Ovens Auditorium.  I had never heard of Heather Land in my entire life.  Turns out, I was in the minority.  When I googled Heather Land, her Facebook page popped up with over 2 million followers.  It even said that 22 of my Facebook friends were following her page.  Who knew?  Certainly not me.

Miranda, her friend Jackie (now my friend too), and I went to Lupie's Cafe for supper.  I had not eaten at Lupie's in...wait a minute....it was about 15 years ago after Scott had a colonoscopy.  He woke up, asked me how he had gotten dressed and said he wanted to go eat a chili dog at Lupie's.  I thought that was a rather risky thing to eat after his previous 2 days but, not MY colon.

Back to last night.  Here are the 3 of us at Lupie's Cafe.

Sunday Night

Sunday, July 15, 2018

This has been a restful, albeit non-productive weekend.  Friday night, I hung out with my sister-in-law while the rest of the family went out to eat.  I had eaten Mexican for lunch and couldn't bear the thought of eating out again.

Saturday, I got a massage.  I go every 12 weeks.  I like massages but, I'm not sure how beneficial they really are according to "science".  At the very least, I enjoy talking to my massage therapist.  She always gives helpful advice.

Friday Night - Where's Balto?

I may have let my laundry situation get out of hand last week.

I Said No

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

Those of you who know me will be really proud of me.  Someone I really care about asked me to volunteer to help her out at church this year and I said no.  I never say no.  Even when I want to say no, I say yes.  I told her the truth....I deal with anxiety and I want to just focus on my job, my 2 Sunday children's classes and taking care of my parents.  I really believe in the program that she asked me to help with but, I realize that I can't say yes to everything that I care about.  I have to learn to say no when I need to say no.  At first I had this overwhelming sense of guilt - even though I knew I had nothing to feel guilty about.  I realized that my feelings were lying to me and that I was just going to have to sit with that feeling for a while.  I still wish I could help, and physically I could, but mentally....I don't need an extra weekly commitment.

This was my mom yesterday.  A family friend with a large garden called and asked Mom and Dad if they would like to come get some corn and tomatoes.  Dad and Daniel rode over and picked up several dozen ears of corn.  Daniel helped Mom shuck the corn and here she is showing it off for you.

Slow Sunday

Sunday, July 8, 2018

Breaking News:   I've gone 2 whole days with no stomach contractions.  Maybe it really was some sort of strange bug and I won't be having an alien baby after all.

Yesterday, I went to the baby shower of one of my very best friend's daughter-in-law.  In simple terms, Linda's going to be a Grandmother.  I've known Linda since 2011 when her son was still in high school and we prayed away one of his girlfriends.  He is now a happily married school teacher with a baby boy on the way.

Friday #2

Friday, July 6, 2018

Maybe I'm crazy but I think I would have rather gone to work on Wednesday.  The whole rhythm of the week was off and seemed extra long.  It didn't help that I have had some sort of strange stomach issue since Wednesday.  I have felt fine but at random times my stomach just starts squeezing and sometimes the pain even radiates to my back.  Twenty seconds later, it is all gone only to keep coming back randomly throughout the day.  Kind of like weird contractions.

Once someone told Daniel it was the 4th of July, he was very excited.

Two Mondays & Two Fridays

Tuesday, July 3, 2018

That's what happens when the 4th of July is on a Wednesday.  Two Mondays and Two Fridays in one week.  Monday #1 was a great day.  I had lunch with my friend Linda and she brought me this....

Check out the first candy bar!  It took me a minute to process exactly how large this chocolate bar is... 9 inches!!! Linda read about my chocolate bar fiasco and is trying to help me find a new obsession.
