Bridal Brunch (Photo Heavy Post)

Sunday, July 29, 2018

Yesterday, Deanna invited Christy and I out for brunch to celebrate her upcoming wedding.

Deanna and I have been friends since the first grade.  We've been through a lot in 40 years.   She's family.  Well, a friend + family = framily.

Christy couldn't say enough good things about her Fried Chicken and Waffle.

It's really nice to get together with "old" friends.  We don't see each other a much as we'd like but, the bond is always there.  Look for wedding pictures in 2 weeks.

I came home and walked over to see Mom.  She was sitting in the swing at Kevin's house with her good friend Fuzzy.

I wish I knew what they were talking about.  After a while, Daniel showed up...

He started playing with my phone and this is what happened.  (Indulge me, I want to keep these photos as a record.)

Later, he told me this one was his favorite because it says "Best Friend".  My heart melted a little bit.

Here's a picture of my Sunday School class painting with watercolors today.  I was rather proud of our art project.

I'm not very art smart so I really love how it turned out.  The kids were so proud.

Kevin, Rana & the kids went to Tweetsie Railroad in the NC mountains today.  Mom and I were sitting outside in Kevin's swing and all of a sudden I saw Balto walking through her yard.  I called him to come to us and after looking at us, he went to Mom's back door.  I am so thankful that he did that because I ran over and put him in her house.  Scott was pressure washing at our house and had left the gate open.  He had no idea that Balto had escaped.  I'm so thankful he came to Mom's house instead of going somewhere else or getting in the road.

Here's a picture of my Dad talking to one of his best friends on the phone this afternoon.  I took the picture because he looked like a teenager on the telephone.

I took this photo on Friday night.  Scott was eating Chex Mix and throwing a few bites to the dogs.  Blossom is so impatient and uncoordinated that she always opens her mouth too early and then the food bounces off of it after it closes.  Here's what I'm talking about....

If you look closely you can see the chip that is getting ready to bounce off of her face.  Balto is patiently waiting for his turn.

How was your weekend?  Did you do anything fun?  I can't believe that August begins on Wednesday.  Laura and Kevin both have birthdays this week.

  1. OMG, the phone pics are hilarious! The first one of your Dad is my favorite. Glad you had a chance to have brunch with Deanna. I think Blossom needs some more practice catching treats.
