Gosh, I hope there aren't any psychiatrists reading this blog...

First of all, don't you just love my hair in this picture?  And the wisdom...."I make other people happy when I don't fuss". 

I wonder where I got the idea that "It is OK to be angrey because you can do what you want to do."  Who told me that?  

I sure hope that our teacher was prompting us with "I am _____ when...." sentences. Otherwise, I think I may need more therapy.  :-)

Little Julie

After admitting to a coworker that I still have an old arm cast from the kindergarten in a plastic bin...I decided to revisit some of my old keepsakes.  I came across a "book" I had written about myself in the 2nd grade.  Here's the cover:

Frankly, I don't know how this book wasn't a New York Times Bestseller.  I mean, look at what a beauty I was. 

I really missed my calling as an illustrator - don't you think?  It's hard to get past the almost perfect likeness of the self portrait but my favorite part is the picture of my arm.  If you can't read the words they point out that I "have broke to arms".  I guess that breaking two arms in the kindergarten was the highlight of my life thus far.  Here are some details about my family:

Wow.  I don't know what my dad did but he didn't make the cut.  According to the paragraph, the purple person is my Grandma.  Apparently, the two things at the top of the page are my cats.  Either that or a couple of ticks.  Hmmm....I wonder if anyone noticed that someone pretty important is missing from this page?

OK...you're going to have to check back in for the rest of the book.  The reasons are two-fold.  Number one, it will give me something to post about for several days and number two, I'm too lazy to scan all of the pages in tonight.

PS.  I don't remember having a 6 legged cat.    

Hello Deer

As I was getting ready for church yesterday, I noticed a deer family outside my bathroom window so I grabbed my camera and started snapping: 

Notice how Scott's once perfect grass - that he spent so many hours slaving over - is dead!  He has finally raised the white flag and decided to call in the professionals for a complete redo.

Fall is just around the corner and no one is more excited than Julie.  There are, however, some signs of Fall that I could live without.  I live just down the road from a high school and let me just tell you that tonight, the Marching Mavericks were practicing up a storm.  It isn't quite as peaceful sitting on my back porch at night during marching band season.  I wonder what the deer think....

Scott & I were married 12 years ago today (after dating for 5 years!)  We've almost been together as long as we were apart!

Summer...

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Laura missed being born on her daddy's birthday by about 30 minutes.  So...for the second time this week, we celebrated a birthday.  Kevin was nice enough to pick Red Robin (Laura's favorite restaurant).  "Red" appears at the restaurant on Tuesdays and Thursdays so we were able to see him.  Red and some of his friends even came to our table and sang Happy Birthday to Laura.  She was so happy.

Happy Birthday Laura

I just got home for celebrating my brother's birthday but that will have to wait until next time.  I still have to post about Laura's birthday party.  Yesterday was my niece Laura's 4th birthday! She had a Tinkerbell pizza party!

Daniel got tired of waiting for the dinner bell to ring so he climbed up in his swing all by himself!

Tonight we ate at Red Robin for Kevin's birthday...actually, Red Robin felt like birthday party #2 for Laura.  She had so much fun and Red Robin even came to our table and sang "Happy Birthday" to Laura.  Well, some form of the song!  Stay tuned....I'll post those pictures next time.  Same bat time; same bat channel. 

Bambi

Almost every day I spot a deer family wandering through our yard.  One of my deer families is a momma & her baby.  I spent most of Saturday morning watching Bambi sitting beside a dead tree just outside my bathroom window.

Hint:  look for spots.  Isn't that crazy?  Someone once told me that if a deer is sitting down in the woods you'd never see it....I guess they were right.  I would have never spotted this little guy if I didn't see it sit down.  Mom is somewhere close by but I didn't see her sit down and couldn't spot her. 

Stay tuned:  This is "H" family birth week #2 of the year.  Why my family has to have all of their birthdays in one week...I don't know.  Wednesday is Laura's birthday and Thursday is Kevin's.  I foresee lots of cake in my near future.
