Dad is doing pretty well...considering that the main artery to his heart is 100% blocked and apparently has been for a very long time. The doctor said that most people would have had a heart attack. Not my Daddy. He grew his own bypass.
Dad is home and under the good care of Nurse Mom. Next Thursday, he will go in for a procedure where they will take a catheter and unblock the artery. We were told that it will take 4 to 5 hours. Thankfully, his homegrown bypass should keep him from having to have bypass surgery. :-)
I've never heard of someone growing their own bypass--that's amazing! Praying that unblocking the artery goes well.
