Winter?

Sunday, January 12, 2020

I am so loving winter this year!  Nothing beats 72 degree weather in January.

Every night, we walk Blossom and Balto in the neighborhood across the street from our house.  Since Blossom's diagnosis, our walks are much shorter.  She can no longer make it all the way to the neighborhood pond.  Last night, we decided to drive to the clubhouse so that the dogs could walk around the pond.  It's funny how such a little act could bring them so much joy.  Check out Blossom's smile below:

The temperature actually went up during our walk and was a balmy 71 degrees at 9:30 p.m. when we drove by the elementary school sign.

Randomness:

Every 5 weeks I visit Kyle, my colorist.  I can't believe how fast 5 weeks go by....

I found an old thermos of mine in Mom's kitchen cabinet.  I'm sure that the red top is actually from my Strawberry Shortcake thermos.  For many years, my bedroom was Holly Hobbie themed.  I had Holly Hobbie sheets, curtains, comforter and even a nightgown.  I still have my Holly Hobbie dolls.

Mom really needs to clean out her cabinets but, I think we all know who will be doing that.

Blossom may not be 100% but, I took this photo today right before she took off to chase a deer away from our fence.

My parents actually had a pretty good week.  They even went out to eat with one of their favorite couples.  I took these photos to document that my dad was actually cooking soup.

Mom thinks it is funny that I am taking a picture of Dad "cooking".  Right after he opened this can of Wolfgang Puck Tomato Basil Soup, he put half of a stick of butter in the pot.

Dad feels sure he has another kidney infection and said he is going to start taking antibiotics tomorrow.  I'm not sure where/how/what antibiotics he is talking about.  Before you waste your breath telling me what I should tell him, this is the man who went out to his shop last month, got some kind of tool, washed it with soap & cleaned a "blockage" out of his catheter.  Yes, he ended up at the urologist the next day.  I really could write a book.

I took this photo of Balto today.  I didn't want to leave him out.

Here's hoping for a quiet week for all of us.

  1. 72 degrees in January boggles the mind. Really. We warmed up to the low 50s a couple days ago with rain; yesterday we saw 20s with ice. Might be snowing today, I can't really tell, but the ice is still with us. Blow some of that warm air our way, okay?

Half a stick of butter in a can of soup sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. Buy hey, who doesn't love butter? Butter makes everything better.
