A Friday in May

Friday, May 29, 2020

After almost 3 months, Mom has her "natural" hair style back.

She is so happy to be rid of all of the gray.  That being said....

Even though I am 36 years younger, I now have more gray hair than my mom!

This was my natural hair on Thursday.  In my defense, it was raining and very, very humid.  When I reached the age of 25, humidity started causing my hair to explode.  Think Monica Geller in Barbados.

I'm so excited to see how my gray grows out.  I have many inspirations but these might be my favorite 2 right now...

Both of the above ladies are in their 50's and are rockin' their silver hair.  I plan to rock mine too!  Then again, if it looks really awful, I reserve the right to color it again.  I don't think I will though.

I read that women who are growing their gray hair out count the weeks just like pregnant women do.  I'm 16 weeks!  I just hope I don't look like an Astropop at my 30 year class reunion next January.  I was asked what Scott thought about my hair.  His answer was, "Too soon to tell".

I saw this meme on Instagram the other day:

Yes. That is a true statement for me.  Grandma raised me to be a CBS girl.  I still miss As The World Turns and Guiding Light.

Is anyone else loving the classic soap operas that they are showing during quarantine?  I can't tell you how much I am enjoying watching classic episodes of Young & the Restless and Bold & Beautiful.  In today's classic episode of Y&R, Lauren's evil twin tried to kill her.  You see, Lauren's evil twin is really Sheila Carter's sister, Sarah, who is made to look EXACTLY like Lauren.  Pure gold!  Sheila is hands down, one of the best TV villains ever.  She's so bad that she visits both Y&R and B&B to torture everyone!

After quite a few years, Sheila unexpectedly showed up on Bold and the Beautiful last year.  Jim, Wendy and I were watching on our lunch hour (of course) and Wendy and I both gasped and yelled "SHEILA!".  Jim soon learned how dangerous this woman could be.

And...a joke for your Friday.

  1. Your Mom looks great--her "natural" hair really suits her. I think your hair is going to look good gray, although the "gray" is looking rather ash brown, at least in photos. Your inspiration photos are cool. Humidity used to make me look like the Monica Geller photo. Loss of color seems to be accompanied by loss of curl/frizz in my case. Okay, you don't know how many times I read the Terminator sign before I got it. But I got it! Good one.
