Yes, it does say, "When the people were well we would keep them until they were well real good." It might not be the best grammar but I knew what I was trying to say.
Poor "Little Julie"....little did she know that in about another year she would discover that she is phobic about germs. If I could get away with it, I'd spend the cold weather months either living in a bubble or wearing a mask and gloves in public. (Cue the national anthem) I take great pride in my ability to open doors without touching knobs in public places. I can single-handedly keep the hand wipe companies in business. If there were more people like me...there would be a lot less flu and colds spread in the winter. (And....there would be a greater need for psychologists too....)
Just being in the doctor's office around all of those germs causes me great stress. I would have made a terrible nurse! But...it sounds better than, "When I grow up, I'm going to be an Administrative Assistant." ....however, I do
