It's Still 2020

Monday, June 29, 2020

How are you?  In some ways, every week feels like both a battle and an accomplishment these days.

Blossom made it through another week!  She even went to physical therapy for the first time since March.  The doctor said that she hadn't really lost any muscle mass.  The problem is the communication from her brain to her spinal cord.  Please forgive the photo overload as she is currently the most photographed dog in the world.  Our girl even managed to go up and down the stairs a few times this week; she's a fighter.  She's still able to walk around and at times, she even runs.  It isn't pretty but it is beautiful to me.

She stood the entire 20 minute drive to and from physical therapy. Ugh.

Daniel grew a carrot.  He actually has more growing in the bucket but, he had to pull one to see how they were doing.

He also decorated Nana and Pawpaw's mantle.  Dad asked me to take a picture of him in front of it and send it to Daniel.

Today, Daniel asked me to take a picture of him in the same spot.

I didn't ask questions.  I just took the pictures.

Blossom is still the Queen when it comes to begging for food.

Mom hasn't been feeling as well this week so I am calling her doctor in the morning to schedule an appointment.  I am also calling Balto's doctor in the morning to schedule an appointment for him.  He has something going on with his "bottom" as my mom would call it.  It is very red and swollen.  He hasn't complained...I just happened to notice it today as he walked by.  Poor guy.  Sometimes I just feel like I am a shuttle for doctor appointments.  I need a minivan.

In an unusual turn of events, Dad was taking care of Mom on Friday night.  He even made supper....hot dog sandwiches.  Yes, you read that right; they didn't have any hot dog buns.

She wasn't feeling as well but she was still lookin' good...

Birds built a nest in a surprising area of Mom and Dad's garage.  I say surprising because there really wasn't anything to build it on.  For a couple of weeks, momma bird has been sitting in the nest.  Now, there are 2 little open mouths.

Aren't they the cutest?  I'm concerned that the cat...that isn't Mom and Dad's cat....will get them as they are learning to fly.

Last but not least, my garden!  My garden is in full swing.  I pulled 7 cucumbers and 3 squash this weekend.  My tomatoes are still green!  Why won't they hurry up???  I did get to eat one red cherry tomato today.

I'm so excited!  I can taste the tomato sandwiches already.

Dad put his Trumpy Bear with his Caddyshack Gopher.  He told me to notice how he put his arm around the gopher.

I'll leave you with this:

  1. First time I've ever heard a brownie referred to as an omelet, but hey, it works for me! Love all the sweet photos of Blossom. That's a really precarious perch for Scott's plate. Did Blossom manage to get a bite, or did she just leave drool on his pants leg? Hot dog sandwiches--been there, done that. They're good. Hope your Mom is feeling better. Also hope the neighbor's cat doesn't get those baby birds. Somebody is going to have a lot of bird droppings to wash off the wall. Hope they don't decorate the car as they're learning to fly.
