Friday #2

Friday, July 6, 2018

Maybe I'm crazy but I think I would have rather gone to work on Wednesday.  The whole rhythm of the week was off and seemed extra long.  It didn't help that I have had some sort of strange stomach issue since Wednesday.  I have felt fine but at random times my stomach just starts squeezing and sometimes the pain even radiates to my back.  Twenty seconds later, it is all gone only to keep coming back randomly throughout the day.  Kind of like weird contractions.

Once someone told Daniel it was the 4th of July, he was very excited.

Poor Daniel...the official website of Waxhaw said that the fireworks would start at 9:30.  Kevin and Rana took the kids but when they got there the fireworks had already finished.  For some reason, they shot them off early.

Last night, Dad killed this bug that had been on my shirt.  Sweet, sensitive Daniel had to fight back the tears.  He told us that he doesn't like people that kill bugs.

I asked him if he liked Papaw and he said "Yes".  I explained to him that Papaw was a superhero because he didn't know if that bug would bite me and he was trying to save me from the bug.  He said, "OK".  I don't think he was convinced.

Dad and I went inside where mom was busy making Dinner.  Dad asked me to stay and watch Wheel of Fortune.  When your 83 year old Dad asks you to stay and watch Wheel ...you do it.  Here he is trying to play along.

Fuzzy or Fuzzball (one of the twins) followed me home from my parents' house.  That was a first.

Right before I left work today (Friday, the 6th) we had one of the worst rainstorms I can ever remember.  It seemed to come from out of the blue and according to the news report, it dumped 3.6 inches of rain near my office.  I had a very stressful ride home but I made it.  I called my parents to tell them that I made it home safe.  Mom was like, "Why did something happen?"  She didn't know about the rainstorm because it barely rained at our houses compared to Charlotte.  I'm pretty sure that a car in our office parking lot was ruined from the flooding water that reached up to their door.  Here I am getting ready to brave the parking lot.

So that was my week in a nutshell.  Hopefully I'm not in labor with an alien baby and my stomach will go back to normal.

  1. Sorry about your random stomach weirdness. My goodness, what would Scott say if you were having an alien baby?

It was too hot here to even think about celebrating the Fourth. We're just coming off a heat wave so brutal that there was not a sound throughout my neighborhood. It was like everyone had died (or gone away to some place with air conditioning). No one even set a toe out of doors.
