Double Digit Daniel

Sunday, April 28, 2019

Daniel turned 10 years old on Saturday.  Lucky Daniel, he celebrated his birthday at the beach!  Kevin texted this picture to me from Joe's Crab Shack.  They gave him a sombrero to wear while he ate his birthday meal.   You know me, all I can think is "There ain't no way I'm putting that thing on my head."  I can almost feel the lice crawling in my hair!

Looks like Daniel enjoyed the child-favorite of pasta & corn on the cob and not a vegetable in sight!  I see he brought some cars with him.  Daniel is very "sensory" and always has something in his hands.  He also was given a glass with a changing "light show" in the bottom from Joe's (to keep).  Seeing as how Daniel is obsessed with lights, I'm sure this made his day.

The kids enjoyed a fun time at the beach.

When they returned from the beach tonight (Sunday night), the whole family celebrated together and ate some cake.

I wonder what he wished for.

As usual, Laura is enjoying (and wearing) the cake.

We all went in together and got Daniel a Nintendo Switch.  Apparently, it is some sort of gaming system that is very popular.

While Daniel opened his present, Laura came over and sat with me.  I think she was really happy to see me.  That makes my day.

Due to Dad's cold, my parents had to miss Easter service at our church last Sunday.  Kevin picked up a copy of the service and on Monday, Mom and Dad "had church" in their living room (Dad's words).  Those of you who follow my blog will recognize the doggy toilet bowl brush holder beside the TV console.

I tried a new facial product for reducing wrinkles.  This silicon pad is by Sio.  I have to admit that I like Frownies much better.

That is calamine lotion on my chin.  It reduces the redness from pimples past.  Trust me...it is a game changer.

Scott worked on putting in irrigation to our garden this week.  Blossom helped a lot.  Balto even hung out a little bit too.

I planted 7 varieties of tomatoes and 6 Everbearing Strawberry plants.  We still have quite a list of plants that we are hoping to get started soon.  Some are going to be grown in buckets.

Scott's Mom and her husband, Andy, came up from Florida for a visit.  I can't believe I didn't take a single picture of our visit with them last night.  Since they brought their two Chocolate Labs, they stayed with Scott's uncle and brother.  We had a really nice visit and hope to see them again soon.

Spring Break is over for the kids now.  They have to go back to school tomorrow and I go back to work.  I hope everyone has a great Monday.

  1. Happy 10th birthday Daniel! Okay, lice didn't occur to me but now that you mention it, eeuuww!

You have plants in your garden already. I'm impressed! We have a few daffodils around the neighborhood and the trees are starting to bud. It should be full blown Spring in another week or two.
