The Week In Review...So Far

Saturday, August 11, 2018

On Tuesday, Pawpaw and Daniel had a pillow fight.

On Wednesday, we had Dad's appointment with the EP.

The EP gave us a lot of information and frankly, my brain can't remember that much of it now.  It boils down to...Dad is getting a pacemaker.  She took him off of a couple of his medications and said that they would let us know when the procedure will be.  That was Wednesday afternoon; we still have not heard as of Friday night.  She said while she didn't feel it was an emergency, he needed to get it done very soon.  His instructions regarding his blood pressure medication is, "If his pulse is over 100 for 30 minutes, he is to take a pill".

I have to admit that it is a little un-nerving knowing that he is off of his medicines that were keeping the heart rate down.  Then again, they were keeping it down a little too much lately.  I am ready for him to get the procedure over with.  Then again, I'm terrified for him to have the procedure.  It was a year ago next Friday that the "routine procedure" he had was botched and they "lost him" on the table twice.  Having this procedure puts us right back in the same pre & post op room where that happened.  It puts me back in the waiting area where I was when they called the Code for his room over the PA (two different times!).  The same spot I was when the nurse came out crying and brought the Chaplain with her.  I just don't want to relive that again.  I'm trying to pretend that I'm not thinking about it but, knowing that we are going back there again is not easy.

But, this is a different day, a different procedure, a different doctor...and the same God that got us through last time and He will get us through again this time.

Moving on....

For some reason it was important to Daniel that I take a picture of me wearing his Crocs.

I took this photo on Thursday.  Every Thursday of my entire life, my Mom has gone to get her hair "done" on Thursday.

Fuzzy was sitting on Kevin's front porch.

That was the super exciting week of Julie so far.  Today, I am going to the wedding of a long-time friend.

  1. You don't want every week to be super exciting every day, do you? It's good to have some down time. Lots of people get pacemakers with no problems whatsoever. Like you said, it's a different procedure, different day and different doctor this time. No reason why it wouldn't go smoothly. Hope you have fun at the wedding.
