It's early Monday morning and I already need a nap!

Fall has finally reached the Carolinas and we have been enjoying cooler temperatures for a couple of days.  Wait, I just looked at the forecast and the high is back in the 80's today.  I'm not a fan of cold weather at all but I do really enjoy fall weather the best of all!

Blossom had a rough weekend.  She started throwing up late Friday night and after a whole day of it on Saturday, we decided to take her to the ER that night.  $700 later and they weren't sure what was going on.  Her tests kept coming back normal.  They gave her some fluids and anti-nausea meds.  We got home at 1:00 am on Sunday morning.  She seems a little better this morning.   I took this photo on Saturday when she wasn't feeling very well.  I'm just now starting to wonder if it had anything to do with the essential oil diffuser I bought on Friday.  I diffused lavender on Friday night, which is supposed to be safe for dogs, and she sat with me the entire time.  I won't do it again.  Could that be it????  If so, that would be a good thing.

Blossom doesn't look like herself in this picture.  Her eyes are very weak looking.

Christy and I went to the Waxhaw Autumn Treasures Festival on Saturday.  There was a BBQ cookout there with over 30 professional BBQ teams competing for titles.  (I got that from the website).

I didn't get a single "good" picture of the festival.  I did get that great photo of a red trashcan above...UGH. There were thousands of people there.  I ran into my boss (Jim) and his family.   Christy and I had a great meal, but we didn't get to sample the BBQ.  Her brother had a car emergency so we had to leave early so that Christy could bring him a new oil filter and rescue his day.  Jim said that the BBQ was excellent.  Scott along with his uncle and brother went as well.  I didn't see them there but Scott said the BBQ was good.

Dad went to his childhood church on Sunday for Homecoming.  Waxhaw "Round Top" Baptist.  Even though I've never been to a "normal" Sunday service at this church, it is so special to me.  I have so much family history here and so many of my family members are buried in this cemetery.  Every time I'm driving out that way I yell, "Hey Grandma...Grandpa...Uncle Clegg etc.".

I spent some time outside with my favorite girl.

I posted that picture because like the way she is looking at me in that photo.  She might not be able to say it with words but her eyes tell me that I'm her friend.

And....because I need to actually work this morning...I'll leave you with a photo of goofball to make you smile.

Happy Monday!!!

  1. Whoa! You had a busy weekend. I hope Blossom is feeling better. If she's testing normal, I'm guessing it's probably something she ate. Too bad you didn't get any BBQ, because that festival sounds awesome. The red trashcan photo is funny. The round top church is adorable, even if it does look more octagonal than round. It would be such a cool place to get married! My goodness, Balto, what a big nose you have! (I know, it's the angle.)
