So Much To Say...

Saturday, March 30, 2019

...and yet, nothing much to say really.  I just got home from taking Balto to the Vet.  This is his third visit in less than a month.  Today, Dr. "B" gave him shots of cortisone in his anal glands.  Poor guy.

In garden news...

Tuesday, we received our load of dirt.  Scott picked up several bags of compost and manure.

Balto kept escaping the fence by walking over the dirt pile.  We were so surprised as that boy is afraid of everything.

Scott says, "Blossom always has to be 3 three from wherever I am.  It's annoying."  Blossom is very attached to Scott.

Being a dog is hard work.

Scott made a ramp to help get the dirt into the containers.

We layered the containers.  There is a layer of dirt, bark chips, compost with mushrooms, and cow manure.  Then I folded it all together and we started again until the container was filled up all the way to the top.

We'll be back at it today.

Thursday, I went to the dermatologist for my yearly Skin Cancer check.

This year, I talked to the doctor about getting the spider veins around my nose lasered.  I have an appointment for a consultation with the esthetician on Monday.  She is going to take UV photos of my face to assess my skin damage.  I haven't had good skin since the seventh grade.  I had terrible acne until....well....my late 30's.  I still have cystic acne to this day.  I always teased that I would have gray hair and acne one day; I was right.

I have a lot of "ice pick" acne scars that I'm sure she will want to work on.  I have no desire to look like a Real Housewife of North Carolina.  I have no interest in surgery, fillers, lip injections, or chemical peels.  I've had two work acquaintances that had chemical peel horror stories.  They both looked really scary and wound up in the hospital.  One of those acquaintances was a man!    The only thing I will consider is a laser and good skin care products.  I'm 45 so I think it is a good time to start seeing a skin professional.

I told my boss that I had an appointment on Monday to help my face look younger.  He said, "If you look any younger, they will card you to get on the school bus".  Jim is very quick witted that way.  He always has a funny saying for everything.

Time to clean my house.  Have a great day!

  1. Poor Balto...Ouch! Blossom is being a good guard dog. Can't let anyone steal or tamper with that delicious mix of dirt and...stuff. Good luck with the skin consult. I'm with you when it comes to having no interest in all that chemical stuff women do to their faces. What you see is what God gave me. That's good enough for me.
