March

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have posted.  A lot...and yet nothing....has happened in that time!

First, I tried to get my hair dyed Ash Brown with silver highlights (to help transition to gray hair).  The only thing it accomplished was mega damage to my hair.

Then came Valentine's Day.  Scott cooked a really nice dinner for us.

Rana cooked a roast beef dinner for my parents to celebrate with.

Blossom gave us a scare by being unable to get up one day; thankfully, it passed quickly.  Her disease is continuing to progress but she is still able to get around pretty well and even runs after deer and bunnies!  Her biggest problem is that she drags her back left foot.  She can't sneak up on anyone!

We celebrated Mom's 83rd birthday.  Per her usual request, we ate at her favorite restaurant, Firebird's, on the night before.  It was snowing heavily on our drive which made for a nice memory.  Thankfully, it was too warm for the snow to stick.

Papaw and Daniel have been up to their usual shenanigans...

Dad loves to pose for the camera:

I ordered some new glasses from China during the worst part of the Coronavirus outbreak there.  The plant was shut down for a week but I still received my glasses super fast.  That was another source of anxiety....should I open the package or not?  I opened it with gloves and immediately bleached them.

My glasses and sunglasses were so nice and so cheap that I immediately ordered another pair.  They were made and arrived in less than 7 days.  I let them sit in the package for a few extra days!

The dogs have been doing well and enjoying the weather.  The groomer gave Balto an unexptected shave last week.  He seems to like it.

Mom's sister, Fannie Lou, passed away.  That makes 3 aunts that I have lost in less than a year.  I'm so thankful because they were all blessed with long, happy lives.  As you may remember, Mom was the 14th child in her family.  There are now 2 children left; Mom & Aunt Ruby.

There you have it....the highs and the lows in a nutshell.  How have you been?

  1. I don't see the damage to your hair--it just looks a bit flyaway. I embraced my silver years ago. I love that it's easy and inexpensive to maintain. So sorry that you've lost another aunt. Time catches up to everyone. I learned the identities of my birth parents too late to meet either one of them. There's a silver lining: I'm now corresponding with a half-sister.

  2. Hey Julie! It's nice to "see" you back online. I'm so glad your mom had a good birthday, and I'm sorry for your loss! This getting older thing is rough, and loss is never easy, especially 3 in a year.

Your hair looks great, by the way! You really don't age at all.

  3. I am so glad you are still doing this. I enjoy our chats, but I like knowing about your life in general!
