I have to admit, I had a hard time concentrating on work today. I was feeling rather overwhelmed from watching the news this morning and I needed some time to process how much life has changed in the past week. I managed to get a few things accomplished, but I was easily distracted. I watched 9 deer walk past my office window, had several conversations with a squirrel who really likes bird food, and spent time loving on my new coworkers.
I couldn't pass up spending time in the hot weather (78 degrees) so I put on shorts and worked outside on my laptop for a while. It was the best medicine for my somewhat anxious heart.
For supper, Mom, Dad and I had a chicken pot pie from DeSarno's - a local take and bake Italian restaurant. It was actually pretty fantastic. Later on, Mom and I looked at some of her old yearbooks.
Turns out, my mom was way more accomplished than I was.
My life with or without a Pandemic:
Happy Spring! I see it was yesterday; I thought it was today. I celebrated by taking the extra blanket off my bed. Cute photo of your seed thief. Frankly, I've never met a squirrel who didn't love birdseed--and they always get around the baffle. Does DeSarno's always do take-and-bake or is it just during the pandemic? The restaurants in my town are closed to sit-down diners, but several are doing call-in-and-pick-up (i.e., take-away).
ReplyDeleteThe meteorologist gave some explanation of how spring was early this year and something about how it is the earliest time on the calendar that it can be. Clearly, I was not paying attention to what he was saying very well.
DeleteOur restaurants are ordered to do that now as well. However, DeSarno's only does that. They mostly have Italian dishes that they prepare. It is fantastic for keeping really good meals on hand. I also like to get them to give when there is a baby or a death in a family.
