Last Friday, someone drove past my office window...
Despite what you may or may not think about the current President, I was really excited to see the President of the United States for the first time ever! (Or actually, his car!) I've always heard people tell stories of when they saw this President or that President and now, I have my own story. I can honestly say that the hours leading up to this drive-by were very interesting. I've never seen so many Police in my entire life! You couldn't throw a rock without hitting one (Not recommended).
It was like this up and down Carmel Road. Every driveway, both public and private, seemed to have a police car stationed in it. So interesting!
Our office had actually shut down at 2:00 pm for the long weekend but I chose to stay to see the Presidential motorcade drive by. I'm really glad that I did because now I have my own "When I saw the President" story.
Saturday night, Scott, Mom, Dad & I drove to a fish camp in Monroe for some yummy fried seafood. For those of you not from around here, "Fish Camp" is what we call seafood restaurants in the Carolinas.
A few random pictures from Sunday...
Daniel pulling his tractor with a tricycle...
Scott went to visit his Uncle Ken and Blossom waited impatiently for him. She does not do this for me.
And today....Labor Day.... Mom and I went out to eat lunch at Stack's Restaurant in Waxhaw. After lunch, I came home and did my very favorite thing in the world....I sat outside by the fountain and watched the birds.
Oddly enough, I don't have any bird pictures for you. It wasn't for lack of trying...I just didn't get any good ones.
Tonight, Daniel decided to put lights on his wagon.
Daniel has always been obsessed with LED lights and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon.
When I walked home, Balto was so excited that he paraded around with one of my workout shoes. PS. Check out the love affair going on in the background. Blossom + Scott = True Love 4Eva.
To cap off my super-relaxing, nothing-exciting, perfect Labor Day weekend, I've been sitting on my couch watching reruns of Alice and WKRP.
What did you do this weekend? What is your idea of a perfect weekend?

I don't think I've ever seen a US President in person. Part of that is due to living in VT. It's such a small state that our votes don't count for much in a national election, so the Presidents visit the big states. If we're lucky, we get a visit from a First Lady. On the other hand, I did see Prince Charles and Princess Diana (in their car, so not a great view) when I visited Britain in 1984.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! You saw Prince Charles and Princess Diana??? That's so cool.
