It is 92 degrees as I sit on my porch typing this post. These are the days I wish I had a pool.
Blossom & Balto's groomer, Rebecca Lobb Grooming, posted a few pictures of the dogs on her Facebook page last week. She likes to post pictures of all of her clients.
I planted a cucumber and a squash in 5 gallon buckets. I'm anxious to see how they do.
I have a few more tomatoes that are popping up. Three Cherry, one Roma and one Big Boy.
I made the mistake of telling Balto I was going to Nana's house. He demanded that I take him with me. Here he is watching Papa make a snack.
Daniel being Daniel.
He insisted on walking Balto back to my house. I don't think he realized that Balto was going to be walking dragging him instead.
Rana is in Syria. She sent this picture of her and her mother.
Thursday, we celebrated the life of Dad's sister, Jean. Here is a picture of Dad and Aunt Jean in 2014.
Aunt Jean was 92 years old.
Three of the remaining 5 siblings:
L to R: Sara, Henry (Skee), Zell
A few of us were able to go out to eat lunch after the service.
Aunt Zell. She is a Helms for sure.
Due to Dad's health, he was unable to go to the service. Uncle Coy and Aunt Bobbie were unable to make the trip as well.
Aunt Jean is buried on top of Uncle Dick in the Salisbury National Cemetery. The cemetery is absolutely stunning.
Mom is unable to have a big flower garden anymore so she is working on a few containers. The cat likes to sit with her.
I walked next door to check on Mom and Dad after I got home from work on Friday. This is what I found...
Daniel is trying to start a fire with sticks so that he can light a sparkler....
Saturday afternoon, I walked over to see Mom; Daniel was there playing with candles. The house smelled like drug store perfume. I told Daniel he smelled like my Grandmother did. He asked me what perfume she wore. When Mom said, "White Shoulders", Daniel showed me his shoulder and told me that he wore white shoulders too. He kept talking Papa into lighting matches for him. When Kevin walked by Dad's bedroom window (Kevin was cutting the grass), Daniel closed the blinds. I asked him if he shut the blinds because he knew that he wasn't supposed to be playing with candles. He told me that it was better just to be safe.
Sunday Nana and her kids.
I'm finishing this post on Sunday night while watching Lightning Bugs light up the back yard. I love Lightning Bugs so much. Summer is here.

92 degrees! I can't fathom it. We hit 80 this morning, but it was only direct sun on the thermometer; it was actually only 69 out. That's a nice pic of your Dad and Aunt Jean. I'll be interested to see how the veggies grow in 5-gal containers. The cucumbers should do well. Is there enough room for the squash? Love the photo of Balto "walking" Daniel. My little dog walks me like that, too.
ReplyDeleteSupposedly squash should grow well in a container if you run the vines up a trellis. We are going to use the fence. I'm the only one in my family who really likes squash so, if it doesn't work...no one will care except for me. Balto is 98 pounds - he weighs more than Daniel. It was so funny watching Balto take off with Daniel trying to hold on. LOL. I hope things are going well with your doggy!
