The Spacebook

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Monday, I walked next door to visit with Mom and Dad and found the cat on top of Mom's car.   It looks like it has two heads.

I walked in the house and found Mom sleeping.

I didn't want to wake Sleeping Beauty so I hung out with Dad in his room for a bit.  Last week, Dad's friend, Steve, showed him how to look at items for sale on Facebook.  Dad asked me to get him on "The Spacebook".  I let it slide the first time but after he asked me again the next night, I set up an account for him.  Right now, he really isn't doing anything on there.  He has been getting some friend requests and I'm asking him one by one if he would like to accept them.  I'm not sure if he'll really ever learn how to use "the Spacebook" but he seems to enjoy accepting friend requests.

Daniel came over after Scouts.

Dad asked me to take his picture with Daniel.

In garden news:  I'm getting some cherry tomatoes!

Rana has been sharing some pictures from her trip to Damascus.  Here she is with her mom.  She said she is having a great time.

Dad took Daniel to Petco to look at the animals and also took him to buy a tire for his bicycle.  He said he asked Daniel if he wanted to wait until his dad got home to see if he would like to go with them.  Daniel told him that he'd "rather not" because his dad didn't let him buy stuff.

Wednesday after work, I walked next door and found my parents sitting outside watching Daniel ride his bicycle.

The cat was with them....

It found a hidey hole (in a little drain) to sit in.

Thursday:  I went over and found this....

I brought my parents Prime Rib dinners from Harris Teeter for supper.  Dad especially enjoyed his although he had to eat it very slow.  He has trouble swallowing and has had to have his throat stretched several times in the past.  He needs it done again.  Dad enjoyed telling us stories about when he and mom were dating.

Just a random note:  I really, really, really would like to hire a maid to clean my house.  I keep asking Scott and he keeps saying no.  Oh well, if I win the lottery, the first thing I'm spending my money on is a maid.  I guess I'll have to start playing the lottery if I'm ever going to win it.

I'll leave you with this thought that a friend of mine posted on "the Spacebook"...

  1. Looks like the cat has all but moved in. Love the photos of her on top of the car. As for the funeral bouquet, throw it into the crowd to see how fast they scatter. :D I wonder if your Dad will keep up with "the Spacebook". I signed on briefly once, was inundated by requests for friendship from people I'd never heard of, and deleted my entry as fast as I could. I'm too private to post myself on a site like that.
