Monday: A German Shepherd puppy visited my neighbor this week. My dogs were fascinated and seem sad that it is gone.
Look how well my dogs pay attention to Scott. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the apple in his hand (wink wink).
Scott is enjoying his new electric
Tuesday:
As if losing a refrigerator last week wasn't expensive enough, Kevin's hot water heater died on Tuesday. Dad wasn't feeling well but, he wanted to help out.
While Scott and Kevin were out buying parts at Home Depot, Rana took Daniel and Laura to Nana's for a shower. I stayed with Dad to make sure he didn't get into any trouble. As soon as Daniel walked in the door from Nana's I heard him say, "That (showering at Nana's) was great!" I later overheard him say while he was standing by the new water heater, "This was a great day!".
Both of the barn cats showed up at Kevin's house. Things started out well and then punches were thrown.
Dad was using a hacksaw and then trying to melt the plastic tubing. I was a little nervous.
Hey Fuzzy....or whatever your real name is.
Friday: Rana flew home to Damascus, Syria to visit her family. Coincidentally, I had taken the day off to do some things around my house. That did not happen. Kevin asked me if I could come over and get Laura up and on the school bus while he took Rana to the airport. Daniel's school starts earlier than Laura's so they dropped him off at school on the way.
I didn't know how Laura would react to waking up and seeing me. People with Autism like routines and don't always deal with change well. When it came time to wake her up I got in the bed beside her. She rolled over, smiled, and yelled something like "Pop!". She was very happy to see me.
Pictures from that morning...
Rana is so excited to see her family..
Laura watched Youtube videos of her favorite songs. I think I heard about 12 versions of "Wheels on the Bus".
It took three times but I got her hair up in a ponytail. I can barely fix my own hair so I really struggle with someone else's.
Thank God for the Here Comes the Bus app. I love that we know exactly where the bus is all morning and when it is almost to the house.
After I got Laura on the bus, I went to visit a school that her teachers are recommending she attend next year. Kevin and Rana couldn't make the tour so I went in their place. The school is for children with more severe Autism and special needs. I think she will love it. I have to admit it was a little eye opening seeing these special children. God bless the teachers with hearts to love on these special individuals.
Saturday: The dogs went to groomer.
Blossom and Balto have the best groomer in the world. She really has her hands full with these 2 scaredy cats dogs.
Barbara, my cousin, called me on the way home from dropping off the dogs. She said that our Aunt Jean had passed away. I will post more about this - this week. Aunt Jean was my Dad's oldest sister. I love her very, very much.
Sunday:
Last but not least....Happy Mother's Day to the best mom I could have ever asked for. Mom is my very best friend and I love her so much. The family gathered at my house for lunch to eat hamburgers. Just before everyone was set to arrive, Scott asked me where the hamburger meat was. I said, "It's in the fridge". He said, "I can't find it". I went to look for myself and, sure enough, it wasn't there. Apprehensively, I opened the pantry door...and.... There. It. Was. All 3 pounds of it. I had put it in the pantry last night instead of the fridge! Thankfully, he volunteered to run to the store and pick some up. Ugh. This is my brain.
We had a nice time despite myself.
WARNING: If you don't like photos you better stop here. I don't take family time for granted so I took lots of photos.
Let me go ahead and answer your questions now:
1. We weren't cold.
2. I have no idea why we had all of the blankets out on the couches. We did enjoying snuggling together with them. LOL.
3. The kids got to FaceTime with their Mom, Grandmother and Uncle in Syria. It was good to see the 3 of them again.

It started with 2. Then there were 3. We ended up with 4.

I always enjoy seeing pics of your family enjoying time together. You're lucky that you're all so close. So sorry to hear about your Aunt Jean. As for hamburger in the pantry...Julie, what were you thinking?!
