Imagine a World Without Can't

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Those were the words on Daniel's t-shirt Monday.  I'm not sure if Daniel, with his nine years of life experience, can truly comprehend the meaning behind those words; I sure can.

Friday night, I was doing laundry and anxiously thinking about all of the upcoming parental caretaking responsibilities on my calendar.  I felt overwhelmed and unqualified as I spoke out-loud the four powerful words I have repeated to myself since I was old enough to understand...."I can't do it".  Standing at my dryer, I heard a voice lovingly say, "You CAN and you will!"  In that very moment, God was speaking to me and I felt a clear infusion of His strength.  I know that I can't do this on my own but,

I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength.  - Philippians 4:13 BSB

It was then that God open my eyes to see a very important truth that I have always been blind to.

Dad had a great follow up visit at the eye doctor yesterday.

Unfortunately, this gentleman thought it would be fine to clip his fingernails in the waiting room; it was all I could do not to barf.

When is this OK?  Shouldn't this be common sense?  I guess those ladies sitting nearby are in the right place if one of his fingernails flies up and hits them in the eye.

Also, I'm finally getting around to taking my Christmas returns to the Post Office today.  Oh computer generated Morgan Freeman quote game...you know me so well.

I might not be good at a lot of things but I am GREAT at procrastinating.

  1. One of the guys at work used to clip his fingernails at his desk while I stood there waiting for him to initial something. (He probably still does, even though--happily--I'm not there to see it.) Gross.

I am also great at procrastinating. High five!
