She ate the cheese and the sauce but left the entire crust. Laura wasn't there when I saw this plate but I knew who had been there.
Daniel made a windmill.
Apparently there isn't much you can't do with empty paper towel tubes and cardboard boxes.
My friend (and my doctor), Dr. John Sensenbrenner, has decided to change his medical practice to a concierge style practice. While I am happy for him, my wallet chose to find a new doctor. I was extra nervous going to a new doctor after so many years with Dr. John however, I was excited to find myself a female doctor (and a doctor who wasn't a family friend!) I LOVE my new doctor. She is so warm and caring. She even gave me a blood pressure log so that I don't have to have my blood pressure taken when I come into the office. She understood my phobia and my super elevated results.
I love her super cute gowns; they went all the way to my calves! I have already received all of my test results via email and everything was "normal". Hard to believe that someone with all of my strange issues can be "normal". I have Essential Tremor, General Anxiety Disorder (with all that goes along with it) and Raynaud's Syndrome in my lips and my tongue! Not to mention that I'm Hypothyroid and have a nice little heart murmur. Since it had been 10 years, I had to get a booster shot for Tetanus. I am reminded of that every time I lift my left arm right now.
When I went over to visit Mom and Dad last night, Dad and Daniel were watching Laurel and Hardy. I heard Daniel laugh very loud a few times. He told Dad that he liked it but he didn't "get" it.
While I was there, the "other" cat showed up for a visit.
Of course, Mom fed them.
While I don't know the cats' names or even if they are male of female, I do know that they are barn cats from a horse farm down the road. They bring so much joy to my Mom every day. She is always looking to see if there is a cat outside.

As a person who doesn't like pizza, I don't presume to know why Laura left the crust on hers. In my admittedly biased opinion, she left the best part. Congrats on finding a new doctor. What in tarnation is a concierge style practice? Barn cats, huh? No wonder they appreciate being spoiled now and then. They just show up and they get food without having to work for it. :D
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I could ask Laura why she does what she does! Well, I ask her but, she doesn't answer...
DeleteConcierge doctors: Concierge doctors go from having up to 5,000 patients to no more than 600. For a (FAT) fee, you will have access to your doctor 24/7. You can also see your doctor in less than 24 hours, with no wait. There is (supposed) to be no waiting in a waiting room either. Your doctor has so many fewer patients that they can give you exceptional healthcare and focus on preventative maintenance. It is not dictated by an insurance company telling them what to do. Supposedly it is fantastic but, if Scott and I stayed with my doctor, we'd be paying almost $4,000 a year just to be able to see him. That does not include actually going. For us, we don't need that kind of care right now. From what I have read, the fees are dictated by the area you live in. It is becoming much more common for doctors who are tired of being controlled by insurance companies and hospitals.
It sounds elitist. Is there such a glut of doctors in your area that an entire practice can essentially close their doors to poorer patients and those relying on Medicare/Medicaid?
DeleteOh I know Lorraine, isn't that sad? I saw on the news that it is on the rise nationwide. My friend who is a nurse for an OB/GYN said that the insurance companies make their doctors see 6 patients an hour. 6 and hour!!! No wonder I don't know my GYN at all even though I've been seeing her for 6 years. (And no wonder I have to wait so long when I get there!). Anyway Dr. S said that he is doing it so that he can actually get to know his patients. He feels like that he is not giving anyone the best treatment b/c the insurance companies make him see so many people a day. He wants to be able to sit down and listen and actually help and be able to help after hours if needed. I totally get it. I hate that insurance companies have so much control over our doctors. Just this week, my dad's eye dr prescribed him some medication for his cataract surgery on Monday. The insurance company turned it down! They told him to prescribe something else so he just gave us 2 free samples instead.
DeleteNow that I think about it, I think Tammy told me they see 5 patients an hour in her office. I just remember being in shock when she said it. I couldn't understand how that was even remotely possible!!!!
